JOB TITLE: IT Scrum Master DEPARTMENT: Information Technology REPORTS TO: IT Director FLSA STATUS: Exempt JOB TYPE: Full Time, Salaried LOCATION: Remote/Gainesville, FL COMPENSATION: $70K-$80K
SUMMARY OF POSITION An innovative Scrum Master that will be successful leading agile/scrum processes in a highly complex environment. This position will require coordinating with internal IT partners, business partners, and third-party vendors, to produce high quality, value-added solutions, to drive efficiency in alignment with Company strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Organize and lead meetings, manage multiple team backlogs, and produce various reports related to each teams backlog
- Provide monthly updates with business partners to review implanted work items and to prioritize work items for upcoming sprints
- Educate and coach team members and organization on Agile/Scrum/ Project Management practices
- Continuously improving the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization
- Removing team impediments by working with other members in the organization to remove the impediment
- Maintains an environment where team members can speak freely about issues and solutions in a team environment
- Facilitates discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution
- Coordinates the completion of work items through all stages of process
- Works with Business Analysts, Developers, QA testers, UAT testers, and/or business partners
- Produce reporting to communicate backlog status to business partners and leadership
- Handle multiple projects with different deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Successfully manage deliverables while balancing project timelines and unanticipated issues
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelors Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or other role in a scrum framework or agile software development environment
- Active practice of Scrum principles in leading an application development team
- Experience in negotiating priorities with Business Partners
- Ability to produce artifacts used for communicating various aspects of Scrum processes (example: Burndown charts, retrospective formats, grooming and estimating session formats, etc.)
- Understanding of application team technologies and how they are used to support the business
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to quality, self-motivation and a desire to succeed
- Self-starter and able to perform tasks independently from start to finish
- Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without dropping the ball.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a roll up your sleeves and today not tomorrow mentality.
- Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand, no matter how minute, by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for communicating with internal and external parties in a manner that is both articulate and professional.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).

NOTE: All Meteor new hires are expected to attend an in-person cultural orientation which requires travel to our home office in Gainesville, FL. Employees may also be required to travel and attend annual company meetings and events. All business-related travel expenses will be paid for by Meteor per our company travel and expense policy.
