Scope Details
Day to day VxRail operational activities/tasks:
General VMware infrastructure management knowledge How to do permissions , standard VM management, licensing, and vSphere networking
Able to articulate and recommend best practices in a VCF +VxRail environment
Knowledge of the VxRail+ VCF support process. Able to open/manage support cases with Dell EMC and/or VMware
Operational training around passwords and certs (specific to VCF)
Lifecycle management (specific to VCF)
Conducts knowledge transfer for new technology features, management and admin activities, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Assist with steps/processes needed to initiate VCF upgrade (if needed). Important to note resident can help coordinate with CS to schedule upgrade, but resident will not execute the upgrade that is a CS function
vSAN monitoring and management
Helping with updating the asset database and aligning it to how the VxRails are deployed.
Helping with dial-home setup/configuration
Resident needs to have a comprehensive understanding SRS, Service 360 and CloudIQ. Customer will want the resident to log in periodically to ensure inventory and system assets are visible in these applications, general health check. If there are any issues resident should take the lead to work with support to resolve
Experience with reviewing SRS, Service 360 and CloudIQ. Resident should be able to log, review the inventory, ensure all
Resident needs to ensure the customer understands the process/procedures for version and codes upgrades, maintenance, firmware updates etc.
